Summer School of Personality Science

Since 2018, the summer schools of EAPP have been called the Summer School of Personality Science. The overarching goal of the SSPS is to invest in the future of personality psychology by bringing together internationally renowned experts and stellar graduate students (at the master’s and PhD levels) interested in personality, individual differences, and assessment. In addition to providing a cutting-edge curriculum to young personality researchers, this may lead down the line to building stronger international ties, increasing diversity within our field, and stimulating new collaborations.

Before 2018, EAPP summer schools were focused on specific topics and almost always organized together with other associations. They are listed in the following table.

Composition

- At least seven members
- Not more than two members with main affiliation in one country (not counting the president)
- Each member holds at least one function
- The Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Personality and the Chairperson of the Conference Committee are ex officio members

Period of office

- Four years
- Max of two periods

Nominations

- The Executive Committee asks the members for nominations
- If insufficient nominations are received the Executive Committee will add its own nominations

Election

- Takes place prior to the Annual Members' Meeting which coincides with the biennial conference
